The New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a memorial plaza in Manhattan. It honors New York City citizens who served during the Vietnam War.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani rededicated the plaza on November 9, 2001, following the September 11, 2001, attacks, as it underwent a $7 million restoration. A new ceremonial entrance was added providing access from Water Street to South Street and a black granite fountain placed at the center. The inscriptions consist of quotes from letters sent to friends and family from Vietnam during the war.

The monument incorporates glass block slabs lit from the inside. In addition to the related MEP service, we analyzed the possibility of heat accumulation between the blocks from both the sun and the interior lights using matrix-based heat transfer calculations to verify adequate passive cooling from the exterior surfaces.
