The Old New York County Courthouse at 52 Chambers Street in Manhattan, more commonly known as the Tweed Courthouse, was built in Italianate style with Romanesque Revival interiors.

The building’s colorful history reveals that it was built using funds provided by the notorious William M. “Boss” Tweed, whose Tammany Hall political machine controlled the city and state governments at the time.

Completed in 1880, this downtown structure still uses some of its original systems, including chain flushing fixtures. We evaluated all of the antiquated engineering facilities and prepared new designs.
