This project involves the complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing and
fire protection systems design for a new vehicle maintenance and storage
facility, which will be located on the upper east side.
The new facility
will be home to:
- Manhattan 6 Truck Garage
- Manhattan 8 Truck Garage
- Manhattan 8A Broom Depot
This
facility will be used for the storage, fueling and preventative maintenance of
collection trucks, salt spreaders and mechanical brooms. There will also be
space for the storage and installation of snow plows.
The facility will
also include:
- Space for minor vehicle repairs
- Employee parking areas
- Office space
- Control rooms
- Locker rooms
- Kitchen/Cafeteria
- An emergency generator
- Storm water retention systems
- Carbon monoxide detection systems
We are also performing CFD modeling on the airflow to determine
the best overhead exhaust systems. The vehicle repair areas will be
air-conditioned and the heating/ventilation systems will operate with Con Edison
Steam.
